Advertising on Colorado Journal

When you advertise on Colorado Journal's Web site or in Colorado Journal's high-quality e-mail newsletter, your message reaches an audience of dedicated outdoor enthusiasts. Hikers, backpackers, anglers, hunters, skiers, and mountain bikers are just some of the potential customers who will read your ad.

Colorado Journal offers banner, button, and text ads that will drive customers to your Web site and to your business. You can tailor your message to Colorado Journal readers and supply them with a link to your Web site or e-mail address. Here's a summary of the ads that Colorado Journal offers:

Web-Site Banner Ad. Your banner ad on Colorado Journal's Web site appears at the top of each page, ensuring you of maximum visibility to the site's visitors. Banner ads are 468x60 pixels in size. If you don't already have a banner ad to place on our site, we can design an ad for you. Our design fee starts at $20 and varies with the complexity of the ad.

Web-Site Button Ad. A button ad on Colorado Journal's Web site appears in the left-hand column of each page. Ads are 125x125 pixels in size. No matter where readers go on our site, your ad is always there. We can design an ad for your business. Our design fee starts at $20 and varies with the complexity of the ad.

E-Mail Newsletter Text Ad. Text ads in Colorado Journal's e-mail newsletter deliver your message to reader's electronic mailboxes every two weeks (see our 2001 and 2002 publication schedule below). Each newsletter contains commentary about the outdoors, links to the latest outdoor-recreation information on Colorado Journal's Web site, and a useful tip to help readers better enjoy their outings. Our readers are subscribers; they welcome our newsletter in their mailboxes, and they'll welcome your message, too. When you purchase a Prime Position in the newsletter, your ad will appear above the newsletter's "Trailhead" section and will be among the first items that appear to readers. When you buy a Secondary Position, your ad will appear at the top of one of the newsletter's other sections -- Recreation News, Going Places, or Outdoor Tips. In your e-mail newsletter ad, you can place a one-deck headline, as many as 50 words of body text, and a hyperlink. When more than one customer buys a particular position in the newsletter, the ads appear in order of sale.

Combination Package. Get more for your money and make sure that readers see your message by placing ads on Colorado Journal's Web site and in the e-mail newsletter's Prime Position. Readers will see your ad in the newsletter, and they'll see your message again when they click through to the Web site. Combination packages are available by the month, which means your ad runs on the Web site for one month and appears in all newsletters that publish during that time period.
